Our Philosophy
The Law Offices of Gordon & Saunders, PLLC is dedicated to the thoughtful representation of people involved in the criminal justice system as victims, witnesses, individuals charged with a criminal offense, and currently incarcerated individuals seeking post-conviction relief through appeals, habeas petitions, personal restraint petitions, 6164 petitions, clemency petitions, or other second-look processes.
We are experienced defense attorneys who have taught our peers, published articles in the field, influenced legislation affecting criminal justice and received awards. But it is the results we achieve for our clients that we value most.
In every case, our goal is to vigorously defend constitutional and individual rights, and to protect our client both in and out of the court system.
The criminal justice system can be dehumanizing, even brutal. An accusation can result in imprisonment, job loss, financial difficulty, damage to reputation, strained personal relationships and immigration consequences. A criminal accusation can jeopardize an otherwise bright future. And for currently incarcerated individuals and their loved ones, every day matters.

- Trial cases: In some cases, the best results are achieved by going to trial. We approach trials with tenacity, diligence and an attention to detail that has proved successful.
- Legal motions and advocacy: In other cases, the best results come from legal motions or advocacy on appeal, post-conviction relief such as a Criminal Rule 7.8 motion or personal restraint petition, or habeas corpus petitions filed in federal court. We have been recognized for our creative and persuasive writing and oral argument.
- Relief from life or long sentences: We are proud that our advocacy, attention to detail, and hard work, has resulted in successful personal restraint petitions, 6164 petitions, clemency petitions, and habeas relief. Clients who once faced years, even lifetimes, of additional incarceration, are now free and with their family.
